In the Picture are Mr Musyimi, an inventor who among other things has discovered a cheaper  alternative to the litmus (Acid Based Indicator) for purposes of lab test, The Blogger from Kimathi university,Mr Matolo the IIAS chairman,Mr Mutua an inventor and Entrepreneur.

Wireless Transmission of Electricity
Project: StepSim Method of Transmitting Electricity
Concept: Wireless Transmission of Electricity
School: G.G Rumuruti Boys High School
Exhibitor: Stephen and Simon
Supervisor: Mr. Muraga
Authors Note : Wireless transmission of electricity not really a new concept but its good the young men were able to demonstrate its advantages..Like charging a phone without necessarily plugin it into the mains which can allow several devices to use the same socket without an extension cable.

Stabilizing Buildings by Lowering the C.O.G

Project: Increased Stability of Buildings

Front Left=Edwin, Centre left=Author, Centre right=Dennis, Right=Mathaga
Concept: Avoid walls perpendicular to the foundation/floor instead design walls at an angle less than 90 degrees. This brings the center of gravity(C.O.G) lower. However, ensure the line of action is still within the base area.

School: Kiambu High School
Exhibitor: Dennis and Edwin
Supervisor: Mathaga
Authors Note : The Author  is proud of his former High school and appreciates the fact that it is able to address problems facing the surrounding community. This concept has been exploited by Japanese and our very own Nairobi Hilton Hotel(naked eyes may not necessarily tell you this)

 Sensor Based unmanned Irrigation System

Project: Automatic Home Made water pump swicth

The relay switch and circuitry used in the demonstration
Concept: Use of Relays and Invertors

School: G.G Rumuruti Boys High School
Exhibitor: Richard and Peter
Supervisor: Mr. Muraga

Authors Note : Automatic pumps exist especially in urban centers and irrigation systems. This one is home made, able to detect level of moisture in the soil, time of day, level of water in reservoir, and ensure plants are irrigated when the land is dry and at night and as long as the reservoir has enough water. A drop in the level of the reservoir is detected and a pump ensures its filed to capacity from the borehole.
